Getting dressed

Isabelle has started taking her shirts on and off over her head... this zip-up sweatshirt gave her some trouble.

Quinny has a boo-boo

While Gramma and Aunt Tanya were here two weekends ago, we took the dogs down to a neighborhood field and let them run around to burn off some energy. Later in the day, we played out back and tossed the ball to Quinn. By the end of the day, Quinn was limping. When she was still limping later in the week, we took her to the vet, where they confirmed she has a broken pinky toe. So... this is our poor Quinny for the next two weeks. She's been pretty good at not licking her bandages so she hasn't had to wear the collar much, but she's still a peg-leg, clomping around the house!

(Isabelle needed to give Gus some hugs too, since he hasn't gotten out to walk much since Quinn's injury.)

Stats

All went well at Belle's 18 month check-up (except the 4!! shots she received in her little thighs, which went well, but were not well-received). Here's the update:

Height: 31.5 inches (49%)
Weight: 23 pounds 15 ounces (49%)
Head Circ: 46cm (30%)

That means that in the past six months she's grown 2.75 inches and gained about 3 pounds. No wonder they go through clothing so quickly!

Camp Nichols

Wheelbarrow rides, fish-feeding, seashell hunting, worm-digging... it's part camp, part amusement park, and part nature preserve, and thankfully, it's all right nextdoor! We love our wonderful neighbors, John and Shawn Nichols, and thank them for sharing their beautiful yard with us!

As often happens, Belle saw the Nichols out the window tonight while we were eating dinner and started her chant, "Na, na, na" (which is her word for John). The Nichols always make time for Belle's visits, and I have no doubt she will be a green thumb someday because of it!

Good to the last drop

Isabelle has mastered the art of slurping the leftover milk from her cereal bowl... Gus stands by just in case there's a problem.

18 months old!!

Our bug-a-loo is 18 months today, so to celebrate, we took a trip to the NC Zoo with Gramma and Aunt Tanya. Fun! Her check-up is next week, so will post stats then.

Fun for all (or most)

One of Belle's favorite games these days is to pick a dog and then take ALL of the dog toys to that dog, one by one. Apparently during this session, Quinn was lucky enough to get both of our throw blankets too! Both dogs are pretty tolerant, though you can see that Quinn looks less than amused in the last pic - or maybe she's just so comfy in there that she's sleepy! The pic of Belle is just one that is very Belle right now.

Happy fall!

Today we drove out to Youngsville and met the Osterhoudts at Hill Ridge Farms for some fall fun. There were pony rides, hay rides, train rides, a giant tube slide, a huge sand box, a gazebo full of corn (!), and lots and lots of pumpkins! We all had a great time!

(When it came time for pictures, Isabelle and Chandler proved that the personalities they displayed at 3 months were pretty true to form: Chandler sat quietly and calmly in the pumpkin patch while Isabelle fussed almost immediately and acted like Chandler had cooties.)
